For those who have returned their vessels to us for refilling. We price organic candle refills by the 1/2 ounce and deliver locally. Unsure how many ounces your vessel can hold? We're happy to help you figure that out! Check your original listing for net weight information or contact us at hello@theorganiccandleco.com.
Friendly reminder that candle wax takes about 2 weeks to cure for proper burning (full curing helps avoid tunneling). We will provide you with a "burn after" date for best results, which will be dated approximately 7-10 additional days after you receive your candle.
We only offer local delivery at this time but would love to expand this option more broadly if there's enough interest – feel free to contact us if you want to learn more.
**We can refill vessels that were not originally provided by us as long as they are less than or equal to 3" in diameter (for appropriate wick sizing) and known to be heat tested and safe (in other words, formerly used candle vessels that you love and want to keep filling). You are responsible for knowing the heat safety/thermal tolerance of your supplied vessel and assume any risk when you purchase a refill. If a vessel appears obviously unsafe to us, we may decline the order and provide a full refund on the refill cost itself but will not cover any shipping or delivery costs associated with the vessel's journey to us.**
Please note that if you supply your own heat-safe vessel, we will do our very best (very educated) estimate to supply the appropriate wick for the vessel size, but we do not guarantee a perfect fit. You may notice more tunneling or a vessel that is hotter to the touch compared to our tried and true candles.

Scent Strength
Essential oil and natural fragrances will almost always be lighter than typical synthetic fragrances (a feature, not a bug) and will not fill a room as quickly. You can expect our scents to be very pleasant and more subtle, as they are designed to not be overwhelming. Smaller candles are lighter and better suited for smaller rooms like bathrooms, small offices or bedrooms. Candle aromas may not be as easily appreciated in large vaulted or open spaces, but they will always be lovely ambiance.

Candle Care
To help your candle live its best life, follow the below instructions.
(Also, because safety.)
- Trim wick to 1/4" (5mm) each time before re-lighting.
- If there is excess "mushroom" on the wick during burning, carefully extinguish the candle and trim the wick to 1/4" (5mm) before re-lighting.
- Burn for at least 2 hours at a time for best results (to help prevent tunneling).
- Limit burning to 4 hours per session for safety.
- Don't touch or move candles while burning or still hot.
- Avoid burning near drafts or around children & pets.
- Use a snuffer to extinguish.
- Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep the wax clear of debris.
Wicks are self-trimming – they curl slightly in order to burn their ends into the hottest part of the flame, which will keep the wick an appropriate length and limit mushrooming. However, regular trimming before burning will still help keep the wick at its safest and most functional length.
Some "tunneling" may occur at the beginning of each candle's life. Our candles are designed to "catch up" as they burn both for safety (so that the candle does not become too hot as burns) and to increase aromatic longevity.
